Bovevagh Church, Londonderry
Bovevagh Church is a ruined mediæval church, located on the south bank of the Bovevagh River in the civil parish of Bovevagh, County Londonderry. A timber church – dertech – stood here in 1100. The present church ruin is mediæval with later alterations and was used until the 19th century. Near its south-west corner is a small mortuary house or saint’s grave. A well dedicated to St Riongán, much overgrown, is situated on the bank of the Bovevagh River. The monument is in the care of the Department for Communities. The monument is within the council area of Causeway Coast and Glens.
