Bourne Mill, Essex
Bourne Mill is a 16th-century former mill in Colchester, Essex. A mill has been on the site since at least as early as 1311, at which time it was part of St John's Abbey. The present building began as a fishing lodge constructed after the Dissolution, incorporating elements of the former abbey. In 1640 it was fitted out as a fulling mill and run by Flemish refugees. From around 1840 -1930s it was used as a cornmill. It is in the care of the National Trust. It is within the council area of Colchester (Essex).
