Bottesford, Lincolnshire
Bottesford is a town in Lincolnshire. Bottesford is listed in Domesday as "Budlesford". Until the 20th century Bottesford was a small farming village, know for having been the site of a preceptory of the Knights Templar and the Knights Hospitaller. St John's Well, within the grounds of the 17th century manor house, is traditionally associated with the Hospitallers. Templars Bath, a spring in the field behind Bottesford Manor, is believed to have been a dipping bath or well used by the Templar workers. The town is now continuous with Scunthorpe to its north. The town is within the council area of North Lincolnshire.
