Bothal Castle, Northumberland

Bothal Castle is a castle and stately home in Northumberland. It was fortified before the Norman conquest and renovated and remodelled a number of times. In 1343 the house was transformed into the castle it is today by Sir Robert Bertram. It was restored in the 19th century. It is within the council area of Northumberland.
