Botany Bay, Middlesex

Botany Bay is a hamlet on the Ridgeway on Enfield Chase in Middlesex. The hamlet was reputedly established when the chase was enclosed in 1777 and named from the Botany Bay penal colony in Australia, as a joke about its remote location on the chase. It is within the council area of Enfield.
