Boroughbridge, Yorkshire
Boroughbridge is a small town in Yorkshire, in the West Riding. It lies on the south bank of the River Ure. The town grew around the bridge over the Ure, on the route the old Roman road Dere Street (later the Great North Road). Its location made it an important stage for stagecoaches.
