Bonamargy Friary is a ruined Third Order Franciscan Friary, located close to the mouth of the Carey and Shesk rivers in the townland of Bonamargy, County Antrim. It was traditionally founded by Rory MacQuillan in about 1500. It was involved in warfare in the late 16th century, but was repaired and used until the mid 17th century. The cloister, gatehouse, altar and church are well preserved. There are many interesting features including the east window, a staircase and a sealed burial vault. The coffins of several Earls of Ulster and chieftain, Sorley Boy MacDonnell, lie within. The monument is in the care of the Department for Communities. The monument is within the council area of Causeway Coast and Glens.
