Bognor Regis, Sussex

Bognor Regis is a seaside resort town in the west of Sussex. Formerly a small fishing village, it was first developed into a resort by Sir Richard Hotham in the late 18th century, growing to become a major destination after the arrival of the railway in 1864. The "Regis" was added by royal consent after George V spent three months recuperating in the area in 1929. The town is within the council area of Arun (West Sussex).
