Bloomfield, Staffordshire

Bloomfield is an urban area in the north of Tipton, Staffordshire. The Tipton ironmaster Joseph Hall (1789-1862) invented a new method of making wrought iron known as pig boiling or wet puddling at his Bloomfield Ironworks in the 1830s which revolutionised ironmaking throughout the world. The area is within the council area of Sandwell.
