Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire
Blenheim Palace is an early 18th-century country house at Woodstock, Oxfordshire. It was built between 1705 and 1722, intended as a reward to John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough for his military triumphs in the War of the Spanish Succession, culminating in the Battle of Blenheim. Designed in the English Baroque style, architectural appreciation of the palace has always been divided. The palace is the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. It is within the council area of West Oxfordshire (Oxfordshire).
