Blackheath, Kent
Blackheath is a suburban village in Kent. The village was developed as a high class settlement on the southern side of the eponymous heath from the late 18th century. The Pagoda was built in 1760 by Sir William Chambers in the style of a traditional Chinese pagoda. The Paragon is a unique crescent of seven pairs of houses linked by colonnades, designed by Michael Searles. The opening of Blackheath station in 1849 saw a further housing boom. All Saints Church (1858) was designed by Benjamin Ferrey. The village is within the council area of Lewisham.
