Birchwood, Lancashire

Birchwood is a town in Lancashire. Birchwood was developed as new town by the Warrington and Runcorn Development Corporation from the mid-1970s, on part of the former site of the Royal Ordnance factory, Risley. It comprises the districts of Oakwood, Locking Stumps, Gorse Covert and Birchwood Park. The town is within the council area of Warrington.
