Birchfield, Staffordshire

Birchfield is an urban area in the north of Birmingham, part of the Handsworth area of Staffordshire. It was developed for housing from 1850 after the opening of the new Walsall Turnpike (Birchfield Road) in 1831. Holy Trinity Church opened in 1864. The area became part of the municipal area of Birmingham in 1911. The area is within the council area of Birmingham.
