Berwick Town Hall, Northumberland
Berwick Town Hall is a mid 18th-century civic building on Marygate, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland. The current building replaced a tolbooth which dated back to the 13th century. The hall was designed by Samuel and John Worrell in the neoclassical style and opened in 1760. It forms a focal point for the east end of Marygate, standing commandingly in the middle of the roadway facing west along the main shopping street. The west end has an impressive giant Tuscan portico up a high flight of steps (4 columns), and a frieze. The hall is within the council area of Northumberland.
