Berwick-Upon-Tweed, Northumberland
Berwick-Upon-Tweed is a town in Northumberland, the northernmost town in England, on the east coast at the mouth of the River Tweed. It is situated two and a half miles south of the boundary with Berwickshire. It was, before war and conquest separated it from its county, the county town of Berwickshire. The lands appertaining to Berwick beyond the town itself are known as the Liberties of Berwick. The town is within the council area of Northumberland.
