Belvoir Castle, Leicestershire
Belvoir Castle is an early 19th-century Gothic Revival castle and stately home, overlooking the Vale of Belvoir in the north-east of Leicestershire. A Norman castle was built on the site immediately after the Conquest. This was replaced by a Tudor manor house, later razed to the ground by Parliamentarians and replaced by a large family home. The 5th Duke of Rutland had the present castle built by James Wyatt in the early 19th century. It remains the seat of the Duke of Rutland. It is within the council area of Melton (Leicestershire).
