Belle Isle Castle, Fermanagh

Belle Isle Castle is an 18th-century country house, lying within the Belle Isle Estate in County Fermanagh. It is within the townland of Belleisle, in the civil parish of Derrybrusk. The house was first built and inhabited by Sir Ralph Gore, 4th Baronet, in about 1700. His grandson Ralph Gore, 1st Earl of Ross, added cottages, a tower, and with the help of designer Thomas Wright, created the magnificent garden that surrounds the estate and extends to the Lough Erne shore. The castle contains a gallery, an overlook tower, a courtyard, and a grand banquet hall. The house is within the council area of Fermanagh and Omagh.
