Belle Isle, Yorkshire
Belle Isle is a large suburb in the south of Leeds, Yorkshire, in the West Riding. Belle Isle was originally an 18th-century pit hamlet on the eastern edge of Middleton Woods. This hamlet was demolished in the 1950s and 1960s. The present estate lies to the east of the former hamlet and was constructed primarily during the interwar period. It is within the council area of Leeds.
