Bellaghy, Londonderry
Bellaghy is a village in County Londonderry. It is within the townlands of Old Town Downing, Old Town Deer Park, Mullaghboy and Drumanee Upper, in the civil parish of Ballyscullion. The village was planned, built and settled in the early 17th-century by the Vintners Company of London. It is the birthplace, childhood home and final resting place of the poet Seamus Heaney. The village is within the council area of Mid Ulster.
