Bedfont, East, Middlesex
East Bedfont is a suburban town in Middlesex. It straddles the (Roman) road between Hounslow and Staines and formerly had several coaching inns. East Bedfont remained a village until the construction of Heathrow Airport to its north (from 1947) led to significant urban development. The modern day town is often now known just as 'Bedfont' and is contiguous with Feltham to its south-east. The Church of St Mary the Virgin, on the edge of the village green, has mediæval wall paintings from the mid 13th century. The town is within the council area of Hounslow.
