Beddgelert, Caernarfonshire / Merionethshire

Beddgelert is a village in Caernarfonshire, with a few buildings across the River Glaslyn in Merionethshire. Its name translates "Gelert's grave" and it is reputed to be named after Gelert, the legendary hound of Prince Llywelyn. Outside the village across the fields is a raised mound called Gelert's Grave. The village is within the council area of Gwynedd.
