Bedale Market Cross, Yorkshire
Bedale Market Cross is a 14th-century market cross in the Market Place, Bedale, Yorkshire, in the North Riding. The cross consists of an octagonal stone base with seven steps. The octagonal cross shaft sits in a socket stone, and is 12ft high. In the 17th century, the original cross head was replaced by a simple iron cross. The cross is within the council area of North Yorkshire.
