Bebington, Cheshire
Bebington is a town in Cheshire, on the eastern side of the Wirral peninsula. The area is thought to be the site of the Battle of Brunanburh in 937. The town developed around the original village centres of Higher Bebington and Lower Bebington. The Church of St Andrew dates from the 14th and 16th centuries. From 1937-1974, for local government purposes, it formed the basis of the municipal borough of Bebington which included other nearby settlements including Bromborough, Eastham and Brimstage. The town is within the council area of Wirral.
