Beacontree Heath, Essex
Becontree Heath (or Beacontree Heath) is a former hamlet that is now an urban area in Dagenham, Essex. Becontree Heath functioned as the ancient meeting place for Becontree hundred. The construction of the Beacontree cottage estate from the 1920s, essentially made Beacontree Heath part of an expanded Dagenham. It is the location of Dagenham Civic Centre, a 1930s art deco building designed by Ernest Berry Webber. The area is within the council area of Barking and Dagenham.
