Bayswater, Middlesex

Bayswater is a metropolitan suburb to the west of Paddington, Middlesex. The name was supposedly 'Bayard's Watering Place' in 1380, the water presumably being the stream later called the Westbourne. It remained a small hamlet in the parish of Paddington until the 18th century, during which it was developed into a western suburb of London. The area is within the council area of Westminster.
