Base Green, Derbyshire

Base Green is a suburban village, lying on the south side of the Shire Brook, in Derbyshire. It was developed as a housing estate from the 1950s on the land of the former Basegreen Farm. It was brought into the Sheffield municipal area in 1967 and is contiguous with the Gleadless area of Sheffield across the Shire Brook. It is often now considered an outer suburb of Sheffield. It is within the council area of Sheffield.
