Barnston Manor, Dorset

Barnston Manor (aka Barneston Manor) is is a 13th-century manor house, later a farm, located near Church Knowle, Dorset. Believed to be one of the oldest houses in Dorset, Barnston Manor was built in the 13th century on the site of a former Saxon house, which may itself have been preceded by a Roman house. A west wing and stone fireplaces were added in the 16th century, but there have been no major upgrades to the building since then. It is within the council area of Dorset.
