Balnamore, Antrim
Balnamore is a small village, lying on the Ballymoney River in County Antrim. It is within the townland of Ballynacree Skein, in the civil parish of Ballymoney. The village initially developed from 1764 when John Caldwell bought a house at ‘Harmony Hill’ and built a bleach works and beetling mill on the river. The mill prospered during the 19th century and a small settlement developed alongside it. The mill closed in 1959, though the village itself has seen substantial housing development since that period. The village is within the council area of Causeway Coast and Glens.
