Ballyronan, Londonderry

Ballyronan is a village, lying on the north-western shore of Lough Neagh in County Londonderry. It is within the townland of Ballyronan More, in the civil parish of Artrea. The village was founded by Daniel Gaussen in 1788. He built a forge for manufacturing spades and soon afterwards erected stores. This led to the building of quays and the formation of a port. Fishing and sailing are popular around Ballyronan. The village is within the council area of Mid Ulster.
