Ballymurphy, Antrim
Ballymurphy is an urban area in west Belfast, County Antrim. It lies within the townland of Ballymurphy, in the civil parish of Shankill. The Ballymurphy townland remained largely rural until the mid 20th century, since when much of it has been developed for housing. The area usually known as Ballymurphy is that between Springfield Road and Whiterock Road. The housing here dates from the late 1940s. Ballymurphy is within the council area of Belfast.
