Ballyhackamore is a former village that is now a suburban area in east Belfast, County Down. It is within the townlands of Ballyhackamore, Ballycloghan and Strandtown, in the civil parishes of Knockbreda and Holywood. The village of Ballyhackamore developed around the junction of the Belfast-Newtownards road (built around 1760, now the A20) and the lane from Knock (now Sandown Road), at the intersection of the townlands of Ballyhackamore, Ballycloghan and Strandtown. It remained a distinct village until the late 19th century but gradually became a popular residential suburb of east Belfast. The area is within the council area of Belfast.
