Ballyalton is a hamlet in County Down. It is within the townlands of Slievenagriddle and Ballynagross Upper, in the civil parish of Ballee. There has been a hamlet here since at least as far back as the early 19th century. Although most of the earlier buildings have been replaced with 20th century housing, the settlement remains very small. The hamlet is within the council area of Newry, Mourne and Down.
