Ballater, Aberdeenshire
Ballater is a small town in Aberdeenshire, on the banks of the River Dee, immediately east of the Cairngorm Mountains. It stands at a height of 700 feet above sea level and is a centre for hikers. The town is known for its spring water, once said to cure scrofula. The town is within the council area of Aberdeenshire.
