Bailiffscourt, Sussex

Bailiffscourt is a large country house, currently a hotel, near Climping, Sussex. It was built between 1931 and 1935 by antiquarian Amyas Phillips for Lord and Lady Moyne. It was built in late-mediæval Cotswold style entirely out of salvaged materials from old buildings from around the country.The entrance archway was once part of Holditch Priory and the 15th-century oak door to the entrance hall originally belonged to South Wanborough Church. It is within the council area of Arun (West Sussex).
