Baile Bhòid, Buteshire
Baile Bhòid (Rothesay) is the principal town on the Isle of Bute and the county town of Buteshire. Rothesay stands in the middle of the Isle of Bute's east coast, in a natural harbour around which the town has grown. It is the island's main ferry port. The town is characterised by its jaunty seaside houses from its 1930's heyday. It possesses a classic Victorian seafront façade with a promenade and pier. Rothesay is within the council area of Argyll and Bute.
