Bacup, Lancashire

Bacup is a town in Lancashire. The town sits within a rural setting in the Forest of Rossendale, amongst the steep-sided upper-Irwell Valley. For centuries, Bacup was a centre of flannel and woollen cloth production. Many of the original weavers' cottages survive. Following the Industrial Revolution Bacup became a mill town.
