Backmoor, Derbyshire

Backmoor is a suburban village in Derbyshire. It remained a small hamlet until the mid 20th century, since when it has grown to become a suburban village, becoming contiguous with Hemsworth. Though the whole area is often considered part of Sheffield's southern suburbs, it remains separated from the main urban area of Sheffield by woods, parkland, a golf course and the Meers Brook itself. It is within the council area of Sheffield.
