Avoniel Primary School, Down
Avoniel Primary School is a two-storey multi-bay modernist inter-war primary school building, located in the Ballymacarret area of Belfast, County Down. It is within in the townland of Ballymacarret, in the civil parish of Knockbreda. It was built to the designs of Education Architect Reginald S. Wilshere in 1933. In 2016, the school was merged with nearby Elmgrove Primary School, with the Avoniel site being redeveloped as an enlarged Elmgrove Primary School. The 1930s building has been retained within the redeveloped site. It is within the council area of Belfast.
