Audley's Castle, Down

Audley's Castle is a 15th-century castle, located on a rocky height overlooking Strangford Lough in the townland of Castleward, County Down. The castle comprises a three-storey tower house and surrounding bawn. Built by the Audley family in the 15th century, it was sold to the Ward family in 1646 and became a eye-catching focus of the long vista along Castle Ward's artificial lake, Temple Water. The monument is in the care of the Department for Communities. The monument is within the council area of Newry, Mourne and Down.
