Atherstone on Stour, Warwickshire

Atherstone on Stour is a small village in Warwickshire. It lies in a salient of Warwickshire extending into Gloucestershire. RAF Atherstone was a WWII air station east of the village that trained aircrew for RAF Bomber Command. Although it closed in 1945, the runways are clearly visible still. The village is within the council area of Stratford-on-Avon (Warwickshire).
