Anderstown, Antrim

Anderstown is a former village that is now a suburban area on the western outskirts of Belfast, County Antrim. It lies within the townlands of Ballydownfine and Ballymurphy, in the civil parish of Shankill. Anderstown remained a small village along the western end of Anderstown Road, in Ballymurphy townland, until the 1950s. From then, the area west of this was developed to become the suburb of Anderstown (known colloquially as Andytown). Anderstown is within the council area of Belfast.
