Ammanford, Carmarthenshire

Ammanford is a town in Carmarthenshire. Ammanford adopted its name in 1880, having grown around the village of Cross Inn. The Ammanford Anthracite Strike was a riot at Ammanford in 1925 during a strike by anthracite miners who took control of the town by force and violence for 10 days. The town is within the council area of Carmarthenshire.
