Amersham, Buckinghamshire
Amersham is a market town in Buckinghamshire, amongst the Chiltern Hills. It has two distinct areas. Old Amersham (or Amersham Old Town) is the ancient town of Amersham, its broad High Street lined with Georgian buildings and the 13th century church of St Mary. Amersham-on-the-Hill is the larger, modern part of Amersham, which grew rapidly around the railway station in the early part of the 20th century. The town is within the council area of Buckinghamshire.
