Altrincham, Cheshire
Altrincham is a market town in Cheshire. Altrincham was established as a market town in 1290. The town developed a significant industrial sector following the arrival of the Bridgewater Canal in 1765 and the railway in 1849. The Old Market Place is thought to stand on the site of the original town settlement. Dunham Massey, on the town's outskirts, is an 18th-century hall surrounded by a 250-acre deer park. The town is within the council area of Trafford.
