Alness, Ross-shire

Alness (Scottish Gaelic: Alanais) is a town in Ross-shire, in Easter Ross near the Cromarty Firth. It stands on the River Averon, the old town on the western bank and Roskeen on the east. The town is within the council area of Highland.
