Alkmonton, Derbyshire
Alkmonton is a deserted mediæval village in Derbyshire. The earthworks, thought to be the entirety of the mediæval village, are south of the present-day village of Alkmonton. A platform, about 80ft by 160ft, is thought to be the site of the mediæval chapel. North and east of the site of the village are ridge and furrow patterns of the mediæval open-field system. The site is within the council area of Derbyshire Dales (Derbyshire).
