Aldrington, Sussex

Aldrington is a former village that is now an urban area in Hove, Sussex. It is listed in Domesday as 'Eldretune'. Ardington was a parish since ancient times though its village had essentially become depopulated by the start of the 19th century. The area was developed from the late 19th century as a westward extension of Hove. The area is characterised by late 19th- and early 20th-century villa-style houses on tree-lined roads. It is within the council area of Brighton and Hove.
