Aldborough Roman Site, Yorkshire

Aldborough Roman Site is the site of the Roman town and fort of Isurium, located at present-day Aldborough, Yorkshire, in the West Riding. Roman remains include a stretch of the massive town wall with its defensive towers, along with two in-situ mosaic pavements which were once part of a Roman townhouse. The site is in the care of English Heritage. It is within the council area of North Yorkshire.
