Acton, Armagh
Acton is a hamlet in County Armagh. It is within the townland of Acton, in the civil parish of Ballymore. The hamlet was founded in the 17th century, during the Plantation, by Sir Toby Poyntz and named after his home manor of Iron Acton in Gloucestershire. Acton House dates from 1775. The hamlet is within the council area of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon.
