Y Barri, Glamorgan   (Town)

Y Barri (Barry) is a town in Glamorgan. Once a small village, it grew significantly from the 1880s with the development of Barry Docks, which in 1913 was the largest coal port in the world. Although still a port, Barry is more of a manufacturing town and as a service centre. Y Bont-faen, Glamorgan   (Town)

Y Bont-faen (Cowbridge) is a market town in Glamorgan. It is an ancient town, bearing much of its mediæval form, as the town centre is still arranged on its mediæval plan. Cowbridge is one of very few mediæval walled towns in Wales, and substantial portions of the walls, together with the south gate, are still standing. The town lies on the site of a Roman settlement identified by some scholars as the fort of Bovium. The town is within the council area of The Vale of Glamorgan.
